Legal Assistant

We are now looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Private Client team and help grow the business.

We work a 35 hour week, Monday - Friday.

The role

You will support the team across a varied caseload including Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration. You will deal directly with clients face to face, over the phone and via email, ensuring excellent service and clear communication.

What you will be doing

• Assisting Fee Earners with case management and file queries
• Completing tasks accurately and within deadlines, including taking dictations and typing
• Liaising with clients and other contacts, handling enquiries and taking instructions
• Identifying opportunities to cross-sell the firm’s services

What we are looking for

• Recent experience in a Private Client department
• Confident and articulate communicator
• Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Commitment to personal development and growth

Studying for Membership of the Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) or similar is desirable.

Professional development

After six months, you can study for the CLC Level 4 Diploma in Probate Law and Practice, fully funded by the firm. You can then progress to CLC Level 6 Diploma, at which point you will move into a fee-earning role. Level 6 typically takes two years to complete, and on passing, you will become a Newly Qualified Licensed Probate Practitioner.

Alternative routes to qualification include CILEx, offering flexible pathways through Foundation Paralegal, Advanced Paralegal and Professional stages, while gaining experience and developing your legal skills.
