A career at Lyons Bowe is more than a job, it is a place to grow, thrive, and be part of something different.
A message from Jenny Fairhurst, Head of HR
As Head of HR, one of my key priorities is ensuring that every member of our team has the resources and support they need to succeed. We believe in nurturing talent and providing comprehensive training programs that empower our employees to reach their full potential.
We’re proud to be a forward-thinking, people-first law firm - with team members based not only across the UK, but also throughout South Africa and Sri Lanka. No matter where our people are based, we’re united by a shared culture that champions personal growth, inclusivity, and connection.
Our culture is built on the pillars of Innovation, Ownership, and Community, creating an environment where new ideas are encouraged, individual contributions are valued, and we all work together to make a positive impact.
If you're seeking a career where you'll be invested in, challenged, and part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, we encourage you to explore our opportunities.
As the firm’s Head of HR, the culture we cultivate is always at the top of my list. Making sure that our teams are motivated, happy in their roles, and comfortable at the firm is always on my radar. Like the rest of the firm’s managers, I’m regularly checking in with our firm’s values; Innovation, Ownership, and Community. As a firm, we strongly believe that upholding these values is everyone’s responsibility. Maintaining an innovative spirit, ensuring we never fall into the trap of “the way it’s always been done”. Encouraging an ethos of ownership of our client’s experiences, our own learning and development, and our own journey. Lastly, always considering our community, making sure that as a local firm, we give back to our local community. Hiring local teams, supporting local charities, and engaging with the local community. It’s my responsibility to make sure that we are always offering training programmes that facilitate this culture, give guidance to our team members, and engage teams all across the firm.
The conveyancing department has demonstrated exponential growth over the last five years. This period of expansion, coupled with significant investments in technology and client service enhancements, makes this an opportune time to join our team. These strategic investments have not only improved our operational efficiency and overall effectiveness as a firm but have also enabled us to provide a more balanced work environment and a significantly enhanced client experience. The dynamic nature of conveyancing ensures that each day presents unique challenges and opportunities.
It’s really exciting time to join the Family Law Department. It’s the newest department in the firm and is made up of a fantastic, friendly, hard working team. Family Law as a specialism gives you plenty of variation in your day to day. You’ll always be working on different cases and no two cases are the same. I’m exceptionally proud to work in the Family Law Department with a firm like Lyons Bowe because our clients truly are at the centre of everything we do.
The Private Client Department has innovated hugely in the last 6 months alone. As a member of the Private Client department, you will have the opportunity to really get involved with the development of the department, from how we onboard our clients, through to testing out the latest tech on the market. As a firm, innovation is a defining part of who we are and for us, it’s exciting to be so involved with it.
The Operations department gets involved with every single department in the firm. We have a full view of how the entire firm operates and what’s needed for each department to innovate and progress. We almost have a birds eye view of the firm, understanding how various projects in the firm all fit in together and working with each department to provide the support and resources that they need to meet their objectives and to reach their full potential.
The Marketing Department is the best department to work in at Lyons Bowe, but as the Head of the department I might be biased! We are really fortunate as the marketing department can often be pigeon holed into being advertising, social media, and graphic design. We’re really fortunate because we have the opportunity in this firm to work across so many different marketing arenas from graphic design and social media, through to client journey and experience optimisation, we’re a multi faceted department. We are responsible for making sure that the values of the firm are being upheld in our messaging, communications, and internal & external activities.
