Keynsham Mencap

Providing Opportunities, Friendships, and Fun for Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities and Autism

ABOUT

Keynsham Mencap

Keynsham & District Mencap Society is a self-funding local charity supporting people aged 0-75 with learning disabilities and autism from Nailsea to Corsham, from Yate to Paulton, from Bristol and Bath and everywhere in between. Their mission is to provide a varied and great social and sporting life to help every member thrive and enjoy life as a valued part of our community.

Operating since 1978, The Society offers a wide range of weekly activities including 11 social clubs, sports groups, day trips, creative workshops, and annual holidays. Each club is shaped around fun, friendship, confidence building, and giving members access to the same opportunities as everyone.

The Society is proudly community-led. Members shape activities through a dedicated Members Committee, ensuring the charity meets the real needs and wishes of the people it supports. They also work closely with families, carers, local organisations, and partner agencies to improve quality of life and create fully inclusive experiences.
