What does property registration mean?

Property registrations is where the property is officially registered with the new owner (you) with HM Land Registry (HMLR).

How long does it take to register the property?

At the moment, due to current pressures within the industry, the amount of time it takes to register the new ownership of the property and mortgage with the HM Land Registry (HMLR) is longer than usual. These delays will not impact your ability to move into the property. Currently we estimate a 6-12 month wait time for your ownership of the property to be updated at HMLR.

What happens when a property is being registered?

Your Exchange and Completion Team will get started on updating your ownership of the property as soon as possible after completion. We will keep you updated as we have throughout your matter so far as soon as there is any progress on your registration.

How will I know when the registration has been completed?

Your Exchange and Completion Team will be in touch to confirm that the register has been updated and that you the registered owner of the property.
