Mendip Disabled Association

The Mendip Disabled Association, also known as Mendip Mallards, is a Somerset-based community charity dedicated to providing inclusive swimming and social opportunities for disabled children and adults. Through regular swimming sessions and community activities, the organisation helps people stay active, build confidence and enjoy a supportive environment.For over four decades, the charity has supported local individuals and families through accessible swimming sessions and community activities. Their weekly sessions take place atStrode Pool in Street, where the pool is reserved exclusively for members to enjoy a relaxed and sheltered swim.Mendip Mallards provides a weekly swim every Sunday, where disabled children, adults, their carers and families can swim in a safe and inclusive setting. The sessions offer more than just physical activity, they provide a space where members can feel comfortable, build friendships and enjoy a sense of belonging.After each swim, everyone can gather for refreshments and social time, helping to strengthen community connections. The charity also organises social activities throughout the year.
