Brainwave

Brainwave is a charity that helps children with disabilities and additional needs achieve greater independence by aiming to improve their mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of specialist therapy programmes. The children we work with have a range of conditions including, autism, cerebral palsy and genetic disorders such as Down syndrome.

We do not receive any statutory funding (NHS / Social Care) with all our income generated through fundraising and our charity shops. We need to raise over £2m per year to continue providing our vital services and it costs almost £4,000 per year to support one child.

Our team of qualified therapists, (physiotherapy ,sensory integration, speech and language therapy and learning development specialist),work alongside families to develop unique Therapy Programmes, to suit their child’s needs, which help and encourage them to unlock their potential. Our team teach families to deliver their child’s Programme at home, incorporating this into their daily routines
