Our Goal: A World Free of MND
Scotland rugby player legend, Doddie Weir, was diagnosed with motor neuron disease (MND) in 2016. There were no clinical trials for which he was eligible and no drugs to treat MND had been licensed in the previous twenty years.
Within a year, he had established My Name’5 Doddie Foundation with a vision of a world free of MND.MND is a devastating disease that robs people of their ability to walk, talk, and eventually to breathe. One third of people die within a year of diagnosis and more than half die within two years.
We are relentless in our pursuit of effective treatments, and ultimately a cure for
MND. Those living with the disease do not have time to wait. With your help we can make a step change in MND research.
