Mendip Community Transport is a not-for-profit charity providing essential transport services for people across Mendip who face barriers to travel. Established in 2002, the charity ensures that elderly individuals, people with mobility challenges, young people, and isolated residents can access the support, appointments, and community activities they rely on.
Based at Quarry Way Business Park in Waterlip near Shepton Mallet, MCT operates a fleet of over 24 accessible minibuses alongside a dedicated team of more than 40 volunteer drivers. Their Hospital Car Scheme enables people to reach vital medical appointments, while group transport services help community organisations travel safely and affordably.
MCT was created to fill the gaps left by conventional transport providers. Today, they remain a trusted local lifeline, preventing isolation, supporting independence, and improving wellbeing by keeping communities connected.
