Bristol After Stroke

Supporting and rebuilding lives in our area

ABOUT

Bristol After Stroke

Bristol After Stroke is an independent charity dedicated to supporting people to rebuild their lives following a stroke. They recognise that recovery does not end when hospital treatment finishes, and that many people need ongoing practical, emotional, and social support in the months and years that follow.

Working across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, the charity provides person-centred services that help individuals regain confidence, achieve independence, and adjust to life after stroke. Their approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the real experiences of people affected by stroke.

Bristol After Stroke supports around 1,500 people each year, including stroke survivors, their families, and carers. Their services are tailored to individual needs and include reviews by their Stroke Care Coordinators, specialist counselling and emotional support, physiotherapy rehabilitation, stroke support groups and peer support, conversation workshops, and other support services.
