Training Contracts

At Lyons Bowe, we take on up to two trainees a year on training contracts. As a trainee you’ll receive first-rate training, unlimited support, continual encouragement and as much responsibility as you can handle. We’re serious about our investment in people who will become the future of our firm.

Current Vacancies

Apprentice Legal Administrator x 2 - Offices in Bristol and Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

We’re seeking two Legal Administration Apprentices, one to be based in our Bristol office and the other to be based in our Shepton Mallet, Somerset  office. You’ll be responsible for managing our main reception desk and providing administrative support to our legal teams and other staff.

Closing date: Friday, 5th April 2019.

Hours: 09:00 – 17:00 (one hour for lunch), Monday to Friday
Expected duration: 15 months
Apprenticeship level: Advanced
Start date: ASAP

Job summary

To maintain a well presented front of house and ensure the reception runs smoothly. To support the legal team with administrative tasks and action work as delegated by supervisor, including: reception duties, including greeting clients & providing telephone support; booking meeting rooms and arranging appointments; file creation and administration, including closing files and archiving/retrieval.

Person specification

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • IT literate
  • Excellent communicator with professional telephone manner
  • Min. 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*-C, including English & Maths
  • Previous work experience involving dealing with people useful but not essential

Residential Property Solicitor x 2. Offices in Bristol and Shepton Mallet, Somerset.

Due to continued success we are looking to appoint two additional Residential Conveyancers to join our teams in Bristol and Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The appointed Residential Conveyancers will take on their own caseload of conveyancing files, including the sale and purchase of both freehold and leasehold properties. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent and hard-working Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to join a friendly team and continue to develop their career.

Job summary

We are happy to consider applications from qualified Solicitors, Legal Executives and Licenced Conveyancers as long as the applicant can demonstrate the ability to handle their own busy caseload. The successful Residential Conveyancers should have had experience of both freehold and leasehold properties as well as leases and some residential development work and preferably new builds. They will have experience of working with case management systems and be adept at working and meeting targets within a busy conveyancing team.

Private Client Solicitor/Legal Executive

Expansion has created this great opportunity for an experienced Private Client Solicitor/Legal Executive or experienced fee earner to join this expanding law firm based in Somerset and Bristol.  The small team is headed by an experienced solicitor who is looking to recruit someone to work closely with her on a caseload of matters encompassing Wills, Probate and LPA’s. The firm encourages development of individuals and are happy to support study for STEP or CILEx. The work is of high quality coming primarily from local clients.
